Located
40 km. from Ho Chi Minh City, this Cultural Village
was recently built to introduce and educate visitors
about Vietnams cultural diversity. Visitors are able
to observe demonstrations of practicing traditions by
craftsmen and artisans from Vietnams four regions
(south, central lowlands, central highlands and the
north).
This excursion is ideal for those who have
limited time and are unable to travel through the
entire country to fully observe Vietnams cultural
diversity. After lunch, we visit nearby Cu Chi to
experience the underground tunnels used by the Viet
Cong during the American war. At the height of its
existence the tunnel system stretched over 250 km.
from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three
levels deep. The network included innumerable trap
doors, specially constructed living areas, storage
facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals,
command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining
tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving
the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what
underground life in the American war was like.
