Day 1 : Arrival
Hanoi (Dinner
included)
Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport our guide who will
accompany you to your hotel and assist with your
check-in procedures will welcome you. There are no
activities planned for today but your guide will be
able to offer advice and assistance for your free
time. This evening our guide will take you out to
sample some of Hanoi's superb cuisine.
Day 2 : Hanoi
(Breakfast & Lunch included)
This morning there will be a tour of the city's
highlights including the Temple of Literature, The
Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake and the old
quarter. Following lunch you will visit the Museum of
Ethnology, a must for people who are visiting the
ethnic minority tribes. The remainder of the day will
be at your leisure.
Day 3 : Hanoi - Mai
Chau (Breakfast, Lunch
& Dinner included)
This morning we bid Hanoi farewell and start heading
west to the Hoa Binh Province. It is a four-hour drive
to Mai Chau where we will have lunch, but we will stop
along the way for a refreshment and comfort break.
Following lunch we drive to the H'mong village of Sa
Linh 1 hour away. From here we will start our trek to
the village of Hang Kia, a 2.5-hour walk. Our hosts
for this evening will be the Hmong minority people. In
sampling these peoples hospitality, we find out a
little more of their lives and cultures with a
cultural exchange following the evening meal.
Tonight's accommodation will probably be a little more
rustic than you would be used to.
Day 4 : Mai Chau

included)
Bidding out gracious hosts' farewell today we continue
our trek to Van Village for another evening spent with
a ethnic minority family. The trek to Van Village will
take around six hours.
Day 5 : Mai Chau -
Ninh Binh (Breakfast included)
Following breakfast we trek for around two hours to
the village of Khoe where we are met by our vehicle
that will take us south along highway 15 to Ba Thuoc
and then east along country lanes to the town of Ninh
Binh. These are roads that are seldom traveled by
tourists so you can expect to be as much of a
curiosity to the local as they are to you. Arriving in
Ninh Binh late in the afternoon we will check into our
hotel.
Day 6 :Hanoi - Hoa
Lu -Hue ( Night train ) (Breakfast & Lunch
included)
This morning we will make our way the relative short
distance to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in
the Dinh and Le dynasties (968 - 1009). Here we will
the 200 steps to reach the sanctuaries where the
temples are located. Once here we will be afforded a
great view over the surrounding area. We will return
to Ninh Binh for lunch before continuing onto Tam Coc
a short drive away. Here we will be rowed along the
Boi River in sampans amidst towering limestone karsts.
This area is often known as the Halong Bay on land.
Late this afternoon we catch the overnight train to
the old imperial city of Hue.
Day 7 : Hue
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)
Arriving in Hue at around 7:30 a.m. today we will be
transferred to our hotel to freshen up and enjoy
breakfast. Following breakfast we board bicycles for a
tour of Hue and the surrounding area. We start with a
visit to the old Imperial Citadel, the Imperial Museum
the Dong Ba markets and the little known coliseum
where tigers were pitted against elephants to the
death for the entertainment of the emperors. Tonight
we will have an evening dinner cruise on the Perfume
River complete with a traditional music show.
Day 8 : Hue - Bach
Ma National Park (Breakfast & Lunch included)
This morning we will depart Hue and drive the 55-km to
Bach Ma National Park. Our stay in this forgotten
paradise will include a trek to Hai Vuong Dai, a great
vantagepoint with views all the way to the ocean. We
will also walk to the 300-m Do Quyuen waterfall. This
evening we will stay in the guesthouse located in the
national park.
Day 9 : Bach Ma
National Park - Danang
(Breakfast included)
Before departing Bach Ma we will trek to the Tri
Sao waterfall. From here we will head south to Lang Co
Beach and then over the Hai Van Pass, stopping at the
top to admire the views. Once into Danang we will
check into our hotel before heading out to visit the
Cham Museum.
Day 10 : Danang -
Nha Trang ( Flight ) (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
included)
This morning we will transfer to the airport for our
flight to the Beach City of Nha Trang. Once here we
will transfer directly to the port and board our boat
for the cruise to the islands. There will be
opportunities for some kayaking around the island
before the sunsets and we retire back to our
beachfront accommodation. This evening we will enjoy
dinner on the beach.
Day 11 : Nha Trang
(Breakfast & Lunch included)
Following breakfast on the beach we will have a lazy
morning before boarding our boat for the cruise back
to Nha Trang. Lunch will be served on board as we
cruise. This afternoon will be free to visit the Cham
Towers, the oceanographic institute or simply laze on
the beach. We will spend tonight in a hotel in Nha
Trang.
Day 12 : Nha Trang -
Dalat
(Breakfast included)
Departing Nha Trang we head south past the famous Cam
Ranh Bay for a visit to the Po Klong Garai Cham
Towers. This amazing structure, which has endured the
test of time, weathering and war, was built in the
13th century. From here we make our way inland and up
into the south central highlands to Dalat, sometimes
known as the "City of Eternal Spring".
Arriving late in the afternoon there will time to
stretch the legs with a walk around the township.
Day 13 : Dalat
(Breakfast & Lunch included)
Today we will have a cycle tour of Dalat and the
surrounding areas. Some of the attractions will
include the Lam Ty Ni pagoda to meet Vien Thuc, a monk
who is fluent in about six languages; the summer
palace of Vietnams last emperor, Bao Dai; the
indescribable crazy house and a Lat minority peoples
village. This afternoon we can the short train ride on
the Cremaillere railway to the village of Tri Mat.
Day 14 : Dalat - Ho
Chi Minh (Breakfast included)
Departing Dalat this morning, we head back down to sea
level and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). It is around an
8-hour drive but it will be broken up with stops at
some of the tea and coffee plantations and lunch at
Dambri Falls. Arrival in Saigon will be late
afternoon.
Day 15 : Ho Chi Minh
(Breakfast & Dinner included)
This morning there will be a tour of the cities
highlights which will include the Reunification
Palace, the Jade Emperor Pagoda, and the Ben Thanh
markets. The afternoon will be free to catch up on
that last minute shopping or to relax. Tonight we will
enjoy a dinner cruise on the Saigon River for your
farewell dinner.
Day 16 : Ho Chi Minh
(Breakfast included)
There are no activities planned for today. There will
be a transfer waiting to take you to the airport for
your flight out of Vietnam.
